November 23, 201114 yr comment_48623 An employee of Canada's EB Games (read: GameStop) has let us know that, in one of the company's shittier moves in recent years, the distinction between "new" and "used" games (at least in Canada) is apparently going to be all but removed.Instead, according to internal documentation forwarded to ******, all games will be lumped into the one section, and all games will be stickered with the same white price tags (pre-owned games previously had their own distinctive yellow stickers in Canada, something I understand US stores did away with a while back). LinkIf this is true. When I intend to buy a "new" game, I intend on getting it "new", not "pre-used".If this is true well, I'm gone from that place. Report
November 23, 201114 yr comment_48628 =]If true it will totally suck and make many mad. Best thing people can do is vote with their wallets. And really, with Amazon offering release date delivery... there's absolutely no reason to use places like Gamestop anymore. Even for midnight releases, since you can walk into Walmart at midnight, and pick up the same game with zero line. lolAlso, Amazon usually has the same or similar pre-order deals and they typically offer a $10 gift card with the bigger games.TL;DR - Eff Gamestop. November 23, 201114 yr Author comment_48631 I have many more options to shop for games close to me.I have the local game store where the choice is limited with the never titles behind a glass window and a section for used/older game. That place is a 5 minute bike ride away.I got a best buy, future shop *I think that's canadian, could be wrong* & a wall mart at the shopping mall at a small 10 minute drive away.EB game lick my nuts. November 23, 201114 yr comment_48633 Sadly this does not surprise me... it's not like they already take new games out of the case... Report
November 23, 201114 yr comment_48652 Yes. Screw you eb games. I can't count the times I had to tell them it's not new if it's not shrink wrapped and sealed. Report
