Alright, I heard at E3 the new psp was called the ps vita. Does anyone else think the name should have been Next Generation Portable instead?

I thought the NGP was an already good name.

I do like NGP better than PS Vita.

That name does not even hint that it is the next PSP

thats branding and marketing for you. Expect lots of vita = gaming life on the go type commercials to commence this holiday season.

"Wait a second..."

As seen on Twitter

Is that not the idea now? Milk a game series dry?

Doesn't surprise me...

Well I picked up my PS Vita yesterday and I'm definitely impressed, especially compared to my old PSP.

The above picture PK posted is a little misleading though. The Hot Shots golf game for the original PSP was not a launch title. PSP released March, game came out in May. Not a big deal but worth pointing out.

PSP also had 17 games available at launch for purchase, and I think the PS Vita has about 20 that I know of and thats not factoring in backwards compatibility for previous purchases on the PSN though for PSP games that are "available" right now.

Yeah most companies seem to milk a series dry. It's a little irritating, but there is actually a crapload of content available at launch for PS Vita. It's super fast, responsive, the OLED screen is hella sexy, blah blah blah.

If you liked PSP you'd love the Vita. Uncharted is AWESOME. MvC3 looks just like the console game, and I played the demo for Unit 13 which looks surprisingly cool.

So yeah, I like the Vita a lot so far.

If anyone is looking to buy the PS Vita 3G bundle, watch this, first.

Yeah PK. It's SUPER deceptive tactics. I don't forsee myself really using the 3G features much at all, only if desperately needed or some crap and even then I don't think it's going to happen. lol

And yeah, you have to actually sign up for a month of 3G service and your SECOND month is "free". You also don't get your free game or DLC until 30 days pass after you sign up for the service in the first place. Fuckin' lame.

Stll a really awesome device overall though IMO.

Sweet. PSVita gets Skype today!! Can't wait to try it out.

Also the new Pinball game for it is fantastic. Completely accurate and VERY well done recreations of classic machines like "Ripley's Believe it or Not", "Theatre of Magic", "Arabian Nights", and "Black Hole". Plus they're adding more (supposedly for free!!)

So, what you're saying is you're loving the device?

That would be a correct assumption.
