Apple wants to patent sensor for your phone's camera

Featured Replies

Apple wants to patent a sensor that would detect when people use their phone cameras, and give corporations the power to shut them down.

Apple says this new technology was designed to stop concertgoers from taking unofficial video at live events.

That's illegal. There is something similar that blocks cell service that's illegal in the US (people can buy them to block service for people on the bus or subway, for example, so they don't have to listen to people talking during their commute). Besides, I think online concert footage DOESN'T decrease interest in attending concerts. Also, lots of music festivals are now being streamed online anyway. This is really dangerous territory for Apple to tread.
