Child In The Road Illusion

I can only see this ending with someone swerving off the road and actually hitting someone or another car.

Exactly... even at how slow a speed they were going... it gets your attention.

I see this ending up with a few accidents from people swerving to miss and then some kid getting hit. Just like most traffic warnings, people grow use to them and begin ignoring them. They see that and get use to seeing a girl in the road and drive right on over. Next thing you know some kid is actually in the road and bam.

There's nothing on the road worse than thinking your about to hit a child. Not cool.

Sometimes my fellow Canadians are big idiots. This is one of those times.
