Twisted Pixel is known for their breakout Xbox Live Arcade Games The Maw, ‘Splosion Man, Comic Jumper, and Ms. ‘Splosion Man. Will their first disc based game live up to the standards of their previous endeavors? Will The Gunstringer be the first “Must Buy” game for the Xbox Kinect add-on? I’ve played it and in the paragraphs below, I will answer all of these questions. Not to spoil it or anything, but the answer is YES!! As I said, Twisted Pixel is known for their XBLA games. Their wit and comedy are infused in to every game and The Gunstringer is no exception. Right from the start you are give a sense of how things will go down. You are The Gunstringer, a double …

Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition Developed by: ACE Team Published by: Atlus Players: 1 offline, 2 player online co-op Rated T (Teen) by the ESRB In an age where there is a clear division between first person shooters and brawlers, Zeno Clash blurs the line in one of the strangest and most unique games that has come out in a long time. The setting and characters are some of the strangest you'll see in a video game. But is it too strange? Is the game a brilliant combination of disparate elements, or just a patchwork of failure? Zeno Clash is a hard game to classify because it is so strange, but the closest you could probably get is to call it a first person brawler. You play a…

Developed by: Blue Fang Games Players: 1 Platforms: Apple iPad (Requires iOS 3.2 or later) Rated: 9+ (Frequent/Intense Cartoon or Fantasy Violence) As the player you control the females (and sometimes the lazy male) of a lion pride as they stock and kill prey to feed the pride. It's simple, it's fun, it's easy to play, and hard to master. At a price of $4.99 from the iTunes App store some players may feel it's a bit steep of a price since the average App runs around $0.99 -$2.99. Well this is far from an average App. It's difficult me for to review or recommend games for mobile platforms such as smart phones and tablets. Most of these "games" can be classified under time…

  9. The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Developed by: CD Projekt RED Published by: CD Projekt RED Platforms: PC (Coming Soon to XBOX 360 ) Players: 1 I'm currently in the process of playing The Witcher 2 with full intentions of writing a full review when I finish. However, the game is long, and I feel the need to write a few of my impressions now, instead of waiting to do it all at once. Let me start by saying the game is absolutely beautiful. I am nearing the end of Act I, and I still find myself just gazing at the landscape, characters, and creatures in awe. Everything is superbly crafted, and I cannot wait to see more. Word's can't do the game as much justice visually as a …

  10. The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Developed by: CD Projekt RED Published by: CD Projekt RED Platforms: PC (Coming Soon to XBOX 360 ) Players: 1 The Witcher 2 starts with Geralt coming awake to find himself in a dungeon facing execution for the murder of a king. From there he is interrogated by Vernon Roche to recall the details of the last battle and how the king died. The story is recalled in pieces and The Prologue unfolds this way. I would love to tell you more , but so much of the game revolves around the excellent story that anything I could tell would be spoiling the fun. Instead, I’ll cover the overview of it. The story is fluid and compelling, but not without …

  11. Journal Menu The Witcher 2 has plenty of RPG elements without a lot of the ‘fetch quests’ . This makes the game feel so much more involved and cinematic. Most of the quests have a tie in with the story, and I never felt forced to do a filler quest just to advance through the game. Everything had a purpose and often more than one. This is excellent since it keeps the story moving steadily towards a common goal without the feeling of wasting time. You may be stuck and have to do some quests for this person or the next, but it all ties together in such a way that it feels right. Granted, there are side quests and job boards where you can use your Witcher skills to hunt mo…

Zuma's Revenge for Xbox Live Arcade Developer/Publisher: PopCap Games Genre: Puzzle, Adventure Price: 800 MSP Online: None, except leaderboards and score challenge mode Zuma's Revenge is a puzzle game first and foremost. I played the first Zuma game a while back, maybe one or two levels in the demo, and I'm pretty sure I was turned off by it immediately. I am not big on puzzle games, never have been, though I was a sucker for a couple of the old school puzzle games, such as Tetris and Dr. Mario, and this game is very similar to it, albeit 20 years after those games came out, it's the same premise. There's not much room for evolution of the match-the-colour puzzle game, b…

  15. In what could be one of the either worst or smartest moves in online video game history, all signs are pointing to the fact that within a few months Activision might be introducing a stand alone version of Call of Duty for pay to play online multiplayer use only. According to statements made by analysts Wedbush Securities, they expect this to occur in "first quarter of 2011". "Activision remains a top pick, primarily due to the company's potential to create and monetize a second tier of multiplayer online gaming for its Call of Duty franchise... We expect this to occur during the first quarter of 2011." No official comment has come from Activision's camp, but gamers have …

  16. As we all know, Ezio Auditore da Firenze is the biggest badass to come out of Italy in the past six hundred years. But how would you like to play as him against some of the whackier characters to come out of a Japanese fighting game? It is rumored that Ezio will be a playable character in Soulcalibur V. It's doubtful that you will be able to jump down from a rooftop and instantly assassinate your opponent, however Ezio is a master of many weapons and would make a great addition to the weapon based fighting in Soulcalibur. Soulcalibur is no stranger to cameo appearances, so this awesome rumor could very well be true. Source: Official XBOX Magazine Click here to view the ar…

It appears that the story of the characters from Final Fantasy XIII may not be over. Spotted by superannuation was the registration of domain name for a new website that is being called at the moment, "whois.domaintools.com/finalfantasy13-2game.com". The domain name was registered on January 11 under the alias "Coporation Service Company" which Square Enix has used in the past for websites for other Square Enix titles. Final Fantasy X, the story of Tidus and Yuna was the last Final Fantasy game to get a direct sequel and many fans were hoping that it would remain that way considering that FFX-2 was almost a complete disaster. Here's to hoping that this is not FFXIII-2,…

F2P games or Free to Play games have seen much success in the world of PC gaming especially lately with social games such as Mafia Wars and Farmville where you can play the game for free, but in order to enhance your gaming experience you need to purchase special items or upgrades. How would you like F2P games to come to Xbox Live? According to IGN that might be happening very soon. A trusted source close to IGN is claiming that Xbox Live will be adding these style of games soon which will "allow publishers and developers to release games through the service for free where users can then purchase additional content, such as weapons, experience points, in-game currency, …

If the recent filings of an FCC document are correct than it appears that Fox Entertainment will be heading to video game consoles. According to the Gamasutra who posted a link to the FCC document, this service will be a pay to watch television service and is rumored to be either "a cable, FIOS, or satellite company in the US." Hulu and Netflix are already offered on the current generation of consoles leading many to wonder how this rumor would impact the use of those services as well as what consoles would get this rumored pay to watch television service. via Gamasutra Click here to view the article
