Thoes rumors include industry giant Microsoft and that they are in discussion with Vivendi to make that very special purchase that would not only impact the future of Microsoft's Xbox franchise, but also Sony's Playstation brand. The final DLC for Modern Warfare 3 has been given a release date and minor details. The September 6th release of the last DLC on the Xbox 360, Collection 4: Final Assault will include new maps Gultch, Boardwalk, and Parish along with the release of De-Commision and Off Shore to non Elite members. On August 9th, you can get your hands on the Collection 3: Chaos pack which includes new Spec Ops missions and the Spec Ops mode Chaos which is based on chaining kills together to get the highest score possible. A mother was forced to call an ambulance after her 15 year old son collapsed from a possbile four to five day Modern Warfare 3 marathon on his Xbox 360. Speaking to NBC4 news out of Columbus, Ohio, Jessie Rawlins mother of 15 year old Tyler Rawlins said that her son emerged from his bedroom after a possible four to five day continous gaming session looking pale and his lips appeared to turn blue. An update for Netflix on the Xbox 360 rolled out yesterday adding a new section that is "Just For Kids". This new update is perfect for a family with small children who are looking for more family friendly oriented television shows and movies. The "Just For Kids" section not only seperates Netflix's standard movie and television genres, but also allows the user to search by characters which can be found without having to type in the character's name and is located on the main area of the new section. Game Politics is reporting that video games sales saw a decent sales decrease of 20% during the month of July. This has been the eighth consecutive drop since November 2011. One console did manage to make a buck during the month of July. The Xbox 360 remained on top of the console market for the 19th consecutive month moving 230,000 units. Both Nintendo and Sony did not release figures for the month of July. Is this decrease in sales another sign of economic times taking a toll on the gaming industry or just the long summer video game drought that gamers face in the rather boring summer months? Gamers have been pouring into Metacritic to give their own reviews and score for Mass Effect 3 which just so happened to release at midnight. Unfortunately most of the reviews have been zeroes due to some fail worthy comments who apparently cannot stomach that you can have same sex relations in the game and astonishingly managed to beat a 20-40 hour game within 12 hours of release. Ninja Gaiden 3's online multiplayer will be only be available to those of you who buy either a new copy to receive an online pass or of course pay the extra fee for the pass if you buy it used. Ninja Gaiden 3's publisherTecmo Koei confirmed the news about online pass earlier today. Ryu Hayabusa's adventure continues in Ninja Gaiden 3 on March 20th for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. EA is at it again and this time the server shut down is angering gamers who had to purchase an online pass in order to use the multiplayer. MMA, EA Sports Active 2, The Saboteur, The Godfather II, and a few others that you can find at EA's Service Updates, are all having their servers shut down on April 13th. EA cites that only 1% of their player base play these games and therefore are no longer needed. CVG recently interviewed Polish video game developer CD Projekt on their upcoming release The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings and the minds behind the game were not tight lipped when it came time to talk about the controversial sex scenes. Ubisoft announced that there will be three different collector editions of their new native american assassin twist on the Assassin's Creed series, Assassin's Creed III. The Freedom Edition, Join or Die Edition, and Special Edition will be joining the regular priced standard edition of the game. Each of the special editions come with their own bells and whistles including in game content, special packaging, and little collectable trinkets. SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive has closed effecting close to 80 employees. Sony made the announcement over the weekend that they have decided to close Zipper Interactive and cited that "the closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios." Sony also stated that previous titles MAG, SOCOM 4, and Unit 13 will still receive support despite the studio being closed. Zipper Interactive was originally founded in 1995 and purchased by Sony in January 2006. Capcom has just bitched slapped those of you who purchased the March release of Street Fighter x Tekken with one little statement. Capcom's statement was in response to the outcry from gamers regarding the on the disc DLC and unlocked at later date downloadable DLC for Street Fighter x Tekken. Just to clarify this issue even further, Capcom is saying that downloadable content on the game disc that you play on day one is no different from downloadable content that is either "locked" on the disc for a later date or downloadable content that you download at a later date from something like the Xbox Live Marketplace. IGN's Jessica Chobot has angered Mass Effect fans after her recent comments regarding the backlash of outrage from many gamers over the ending in Mass Effect 3. Chobot who makes a few appearances as reporter Diana Allers in Mass Effect 3 wrote a blog entry where she called gamers whiny for complaining about the ending of Mass Effect 3 and as a result the blog post has been deleted, Chobot issued an apology, and announced late yesterday that she is closing down her blog on IGN. Creators of the upcoming Kinect only spin on the Fable series, Fable: The Journey, are saying that fans are being unfair and that they really need to just give it a chance. Former Microsoft employee and Fable Designer Peter Molyneux said in a recent press conference that he wants gamers to know that they will not be "leaping" through the air. In an attempt to try and please the angry Mass Effect fans who went bananas after seeing how Commander Shepard's story ended, Bioware has announced that later this summer Mass Effect 3 will get Extended Cut DLC. The content will be for free and will contain extending endings and Bioware promises further clarity in regards to the end of Shepard's story.
