The bell has been sounded and the gloves are off. Activision and Infinity Ward's increasing tensions have finally come to a head and it appears there is not an end in sight with senior employees of Infinity Ward being let go (whether or not they were fired has yet to be confirmed) and Infinity Ward's Community Manager Robert Bowling firing back at Activision with a few choice words of his own. Last night, Activision sent "bouncer types" over to Infinity Ward's office and held a meeting between Activision and Infinity Ward's lead developers Jason West and Vince Zampella that ended with both employees no longer being employeed at Infinity Ward. Again, nothing has been co…

  8. "We weren’t an independent studio making ‘our’ games anymore – we were making games to fill slots. Although we did all believe in them, they were more the products of committees and analysts. The culture we’d worked on for so long gradually eroded just enough so that it wasn’t ‘ours’ anymore", said the Creative Director with Bizarre Creations Martyn Chudley during an interview with Edge where regrets and the option to buy Bizarre back after Activision closed the 17 year studio in February 2011 were explained. During the interview Chudley details how it was making games for Activision and that they were just "fill slots". "I don’t think the atmosphere differed too much d…

  9. Creators of the upcoming Kinect only spin on the Fable series, Fable: The Journey, are saying that fans are being unfair and that they really need to just give it a chance. Former Microsoft employee and Fable Designer Peter Molyneux said in a recent press conference that he wants gamers to know that they will not be "leaping" through the air. "From the blogs and the posts that I've seen, there's a lot of skepticism out there. People think that they're going to be leaping around the room or they're going to have to shout at the top of their voice and feel embarrassed. We don't want that - we want you to feel relaxed." Molyneux isn't the only one that was on the Fable team…

In a statement made late last week, Chief Executive of Nintendo Satoru Iwata explained one of the regrets that Nintendo is coming forth about with the once considered landmark console, the Nintendo Wii.
