The recent announcement of Beachhead Studios working on the pay to play Call of Duty service that is titled, "Call of Duty Elite" has left fans either shaking their heads at the notion of paying to play for yet another service of their beloved series or others just simply saying, "don't like it, don't play it". This service would mix together with Modern Warfare 3, however with Call of Duty Elite you are looking at somewhere around a $7.99 a month extra charge to access the extra content that you will not find wit…

Head over to the forums and post about anything I missed, or to discuss what I’ve listed. I won’t cover everything in depth, but I will hit the major announcements. Let’s get started: Microsoft finally announced the real name for Project Natal, Kinect. They showed Kinect Sports, a few fitness games, a Sonic game, a Forza game and an exclusive Star Wars game. They also detailed Kinect video conferencing, voice controls for movies/music, and the motion controls for video/music as well. The add-on hit…

  12. THQ is dealing with a rather large headache this morning as news surfaces that their shares dropped 21% yesterday as mediocre reviews rolled in regarding their newly released future based game, Homefront. The first person shooter received an average 72 out of 100 for the Xbox 360 version from Metacritic and reviews that are pouring in from websites such as IGN, GameSpot, and Digital Trends are centering around a mediocre score of 7 out of 10 with suggestions that the campaign is too short and the content in Homefront has already been done by other games. Fans are expressing their outrage on Homefront's Forum over players that have already begun using cheats in the mulitp…

It might be a little early for April Fool's day jokes, but Sony has already pulled a fast one on gamers looking to pick up the PSP Go. On Thursday, Sony dropped the price of their PSP Go from $199.99 to $149.99. Today in a rather strange move, Sony took the price cut back and has returned the price of the PSP Go back to $199.99. Sony has not released any statements regarding the price cut and the price jump. (Thanks Chris!) via Gizomodo and Slash Gear Click here to view the article

  14. Video game retailing giant has axed Sony's Playstation 2 from stores, however the company states that the move is purely demographical. "The PS2 is a unique one — we still generate a whole lot of profit off PS2 sales, but we're going to keep PS2 where PS2 does sell, and we won't put it in stores where we see really lapsed sales. It's somewhat demographic — it's somewhat regional, it is. The heartland of the U.S. tends to catch the wave a little bit later than the coasts to a degree. So we kinda bring it in, and we'll take it out of the stores where the shelves would be better served by next generation product, or they're just small stores where they can't fit it in." expl…

  15. The Battlefield 3 beta has been live for a little over a week and gamers have already found ways to cheat in order to gain the upper hand in battle. DICE has come forward and is threatening to swing the mighty banhammer towards any gamers who are caught using any kind of cheats and/or glitches. "The hammer will fall swiftly and accurately," noted DICE's CM Ian Tornay on the Battlefield 3 forums. According to Gameranx , DICE has disabled cheating protection in multiplayer beta so that they can see and monitor what extremes players will go to just to anger other gamers and rack up those kill counts. So far during my playing of the beta I saw a few gamers glitching out of t…

As you may or may not know, Dejobaan Games has been making quality games for over 75 years. They have released several PC games full of oddball humor and wackiness, held together by smooth gameplay. These include The Wonderful End of the World, AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, and their very recently released game, 1... 2... 3... Kick It! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby). The latter two compete for alphabetical superiority in my Steam library. 1... 2... 3... Kick It! was technically released as an alpha, which can be bought and will be supported and updated over time with the aid of user feedback, much like Minecraft. It's a music based game along the l…

  17. Fans of Final Fantasy might have said, "oh no" when Final Fantasy XIII-2 was announced last year, but that didn't stop Square Enix from continuing on with the followup to 2010's Final Fantasy XIII that found gamers following the story of Lightning as her life intertwined with other characters through the game. Recently at this year's Tokyo Game Show, Square announced a release date for Final Fantasy XIII-2 as January 31, 2012 here in the states, but also a Japan only Playstation 3 bundle that features Lightning herself on the console. So far fans of the series have not been to accepting of Final Fantasy XIII-2 considering the huge flop that was Final Fantasy X-2, so S…

  18. Imagine this kind of math. War is raging all around you and you have one bullet left in your clip. You fire that last shot as enemies are getting closer. You feel for extra clips, but cannot find any. You throw down your weapon and pull out your pistol as a last resort. You know you already fired two shots and your pistol can only handle six bullets at a time. How many bullets are left? If you said four bullets than congratulations, UK's Secretary of State for Education Michael Gove would be proud. Gove is currently pushing the UK's government to allow video games into the classroom, because he feels that kids can relate more to figuring out equation involving one …

Fans who have anxiously been waiting on a remake of Square Enix's 1997 Final Fantasy VII are going to be waiting tad bit longer. Speaking to Famitsu, Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura told the Japanese magazine that a FFVII remake is not a priority at this time. While Square is focusing on their current release, FFXIII-2 with followup DLC and a possible rumored FFXIII-3, they are also working on Final Fantasy X HD remake which makes their statement regarding FFVII seem a bit confusing. via IGN Click here to view the article
