  2. The followup to Gearbox's successful 2009 RPG, Borderlands has been confirmed however Gearbox's CEO Randy Pitchford is not pleased that the details were leaked so soon. According to 1up, Pitchford took to Twitter yesterday to show his unapproval for the early announcement and targeted "shoddy journalism" (Eurogamer?) for the leak. Talk about a verbal beatdown. Eurogamer first announced the leak yesterday claiming that they got the information from an unnamed source. More drama ensued as Ars Technica tried to stand up for Eurogamer and the other gaming websites that carried the story on, however Pitchford was not having it as proven in the previous tweet. via 1up and A…

  3. Nothing beats a kick in the scrotum to start your day. Ex Darksiders 2 Senior UI Designer, Xander Davis has said in an interview with Not Enough Shaders that Nintendo's upcoming console the Wii U is "$400 Xbox 360 seven years late." "I’ve not worked on any Wii U version of anything (luckily). But, y’know, I very early on raised my major concern about this. Anybody buying any Wii U game that’s a port is probably buying it almost exclusively and specifically for how it can play differently through the Wii U’s alleged innovated UI. I’m already a known skeptic on whether the interface paradigm is at all anything but idiotic. But if you’re gonna do it? Fine. Then, you H…

  6. It appears that the much rumored Halo movie is back on the front burner of the rumor mill after a french press release claims that Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks are backing the film set to release in 2012. The press release which happens to be for the Forerunner based Halo novel, Halo: Cryptum clearly states, " A film adaptation is set in 2012. It will be conducted jointly by two heavyweights of American cinema: Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks." Does this mean that a Halo movie might release around the same time as Halo 4 in winter 2012? Or is this just simply another rumor that needs to be put to rest until Microsoft steps forward and says, "yes a Halo film is being p…

Resident Evil 6, meet boobies. Boobies, meet Resident Evil 6. Capcom has made a questionable decision with putting full fledge frontal nudity minus genitalia in their new entry into the long running Resident Evil horror series with Resident Evil 6. The nakedness has been introduced in the form of a female spider boss who according to CVG will straddle your character and caress her breasts all while you hear the words fuck and shit being yelled in the background. Before you even ask, yes that is Ada in the video and yes you get to play as her in the campaign. http://youtu.be/8PMPKYtI6W4 Click here to view the article

Nintendo has made a disappointing announcement regarding their upcoming console, Wii U. The console will be region locked. Nintendo confirmed the news to Famitsu which was later translated by NeoGaf user Cheesmeister3k who translates gaming events in Japan on Twitter; "That can be played on the Wii U is restricted by a region-lock feature; software not sold in the same region cannot be played". This should really come as no surprise considering that the Wii and 3DS are also region locked. Click here to view the article

MMA, EA Sports Active 2, The Saboteur, The Godfather II, and a few others that you can find at EA's Service Updates, are all having their servers shut down on April 13th. EA cites that only 1% of their player base play these games and therefore are no longer needed. Fans of MMA took to EA's MMA forums to speak their mind about how disappointed they are that EA keeps shutting down servers for games that are requiring an online pass to play and are questioning why EA does not choose to use a virtual server for the games that fall in th…

  16. The hackers vs. Sony battle continues as Sony's SVP and Chief Information Officer Philip Reitinger made a short announcement late yesterday evening stating that hackers were once again attempting to compromise Sony's Playstation Network and Entertainment Networks. Sony has temporarily disabled some accounts that may have been affected by the attempted hack. Whether or not you believe that the attacks came from another source other than Sony is up to you to decide, but at least this time Sony is giving their users the heads up instead of waiting for a few weeks to pass like they did during the huge Sony hack that took the Playstation Network and accounts down for weeks. …

  20. Naughty Dog gave Microsoft a tiny pat on the back and inadvertently bitch slapped Sony all at one time during a recent interview regarding Sony's exclusive series Uncharted with UK gaming magazine, Play. "....Sony kept pushing for a more realistic game in all respects. The market had changed a lot by then. The demographic was older and gritty shooters were really dominating. Sony wanted very much to get into that market share, it pushed all of its developers in this direction. So the big push from Sony, not just at Naughty Dog but at all of Sony's development companies at the time, was to craft games for PlayStation 3 that were much more realistic. The pressure from Xbo…

They are releasing some hot details thanks to 343 Industries on Halo 4 including an explanation of the "two" single player campaigns that mesh into not only co-op with your friends but also Master Chief's story. 343 Industries explains the Infinity in Halo 4 as a way for your own "persistent Spartan IV" who is on board the UNSC Infinity to feed into the main storyline spawning a "second campaign". How are they doing this you ask? After Halo 4 releases, 343 will be releasing four short CGI mini-episodes each week starring the four new Spartan IV's.
