  5. For those who think the internet consists most of trolls and hyperactive a-holes, we're glad to report that there is still hope for the online community. Roy Williams and his friends answered the online request of fellow gamer Jordan Verner for help in completing the Nintendo 64 classic The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time by providing a walkthrough of the game. Why not just snag one from Gamefaqs? Because Jordan Verner is blind. Roy and his friends recorded every single action, no matter how trivial, onto a document that would later be read aloud by Jordan's computer. With this document, Jordan was able to complete the entire game in November 2009. Sure, we all b…

  10. EA is started off the week the right way, by banning hundreds of cheaters, glitchers, and exploiters in Battlefield 3. "This week we’ve banned hundreds of offending accounts and have stats-wiped accounts for exploiting (such as boosting)... (2 of More)", tweeted EA over Twitter. "We are working on banning as many people as we can as quickly as we can. We have a zero tolerance policy for cheating." The bans come after the offending players discovered a glitch that allows a player using the engineer class to gain tens of thousands of points causing them to rank up extremely fast within one round. via Eurogamer Click here to view the article

What's in a name? Well not much if you are referring to Nintendo's upcoming console the Wii U. After complaints that the company has received since the announcement of the Wii U, rumors have been spreading across the interwebs that Nintendo is considering changing the name of the console. Sources close to Nintendo are claiming that Nintendo is worried that there might be confusion over the name of their newest console like with the numerous other different named DS handhelds. Nintendo has not confirmed anything regarding a possible name change so we will have to leave this one at the rumor door, but I do wonder if they thought maybe about changing the name to Nintendo R…

BAFTA's nominees for the 2012 video game awards have been announced and apparently we live in an alternate universe where games that suck or fail miserably at trying to be different (yeah you LA Noire) deserve to come out on top. Batman: Arkham City and LA Noire faired pretty well receiving most of the nominations including Best Game, Game Innovation, Artistic Achievement, and Action. LA Noire also scored a nomination in the Debut category. Other titles receiving their share of nominations include Modern Warfare 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, FIFA 12, Portal 2, and Assassin'c Creed' Revelations. For the complete list of where these games and other games fall, please vi…

The director of analyst services for Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, Jesse Divnich seems to think that gamers will get a glimpse of Grand Theft Auto 5 at 2010's E3. Speaking to Game Informer, Divnich says, "....I think there won't be any playable stuff. I think they'll give you some type of teaser, because we do think that a year from then in 2011 we're going to see another Grand Theft Auto." Sounds like if Grand Theft Auto 5 makes an appearance at E3 2010 it will be a battle of gangsta proportions. Saint's Row 3 is supposedly going to make an appearance as well according to the wiki for the game. Nothing has been confirmed from GTA's camp, so for now mark t…

Assassin's Creed 3 has gotten an official release date of October 30, 2012. Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot made the announcement this morning during a call to investors and stated that Assassin's Creed 3 will be the biggest launch in Ubisoft's history, that they spent more on this title than any other entry into the Assassin's Creed series, and that the game has also been in development for three years. via Eurogamer and Joystiq Click here to view the article

  19. Do you feel like rewinding a few years or so ago? Bethesda has announced that they are releasing a double pack of games that include Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The pack will release on April 3rd and will cost you $29.99 for the Xbox 360 versions and $19.99 for the PC. If you are planning on purchasing the pack ignore the front of the package that says, "2006 and 2008 Game of the Year Award winners", because it does not contain the Game of the Year editions of both games that contain all of the DLC. You still have to fork out the coin for that. via G4TV Click here to view the article

  20. The first set of DLC has been announced for Modern Warfare 3. Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling made the announcement on Call of Duty's Elite service premium side meaning that unless you paid up for Elite, you can't see the video. Elite subscribers on Xbox Live will be able to get their hands on the DLC January 24th. No date was given for Playstation 3 or PC users. Bowling stated rather vaguely that the content will contain things that players have never seen before and that all three developers Infinity Ward, Raven Software, and Sledgehammer have worked on the unnamed DLC. via Call of Duty Elite and Joystiq Click here to view the article

It seems that Ubisoft's upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier does not want to release. After originally being announced in 2009, the futuristic military third person shooter fell off the radar altogether, re-appeared, and then a week ago received a video that claimed it was releasing in March 2012. Ubisoft has again changed that date to May 22, 2012 in North America. Europe will be receiving it a couple days later on May 24th. Also announced is that the January mulitplayer beta has been pushed back until April and the might exist, oh wait cancelled in December, PC version has once again been given the green light and according to Ubisoft's press release will release at …

  23. Not sure how many of you will pop some excitement in your pants for this news, but Square Enix has announced that two somewhat dismal characters from Final Fantasy XIII will be making a return in the upcoming second part of the story, Final Fantasy XIII-2. Snow and Hope were shown briefly in a trailer at the Tokyo Game Show marking their return to your flat screen. Hope appears to have matured physically and Snow is barely recognizable when he reappears towards the end with Lightning's younger sister, Serah. http://youtu.be/vGXurqAKE0I Not sure about you, but I would take Fang and Vanille over those two clowns anyday. via G4TV and Click here to view the article

What's a developer to do when their third installment of their popular series, Resistance sells rather poorly in the United States? Go on the defensive of course. Insomniac Game's Resistance 3 was not as huge of a hit as they might have hoped here in the United States. The followup to 2008's hit Resistance 2, only managed to sell a meger 180,00 copies during it's first month release compared to Resistance 2 which sold 385,000. GamersMint who posted an article detailing their let down first month sales, compared Resistance 3's sales to Dead Island's first month sales which released on the same day. Dead Island happened to move over 2 million copies. So what did Insomni…
