Master Chief's big return to your living room has hit a minor snag. The creative director behind Halo 4 has announced that he has left the buidling. Ryan Payton made the shocking announcement and broke news that he formed his own studio, Camouflaj. People were wondering why he would leave Microsoft and 343 Industries when he was working on one of the series that made the Xbox what it is today. "Some people say I'm crazy, but I want to make a game that one billion people play at once, and it's something that hits them harder than a great book or film." Microsoft and 343 Industries made the announcement concerning day one DLC and put a price tag of 2000 MS Points or $25.00 on the War Game Map Pass. If you purchase the limited edition version of Halo 4, the War Game Map Pass is included. The War Game Map Pass includes nine multiplayer maps, two helmets for your Spartan, and the Falcon in game emblem. 343 Industries and Microsoft also gave details regarding what happens when a player reaches a level 50. [caption id=" align="alignright" width="391" caption="via Eurogamer][/caption] Eurogamer is reporting that the Channel 4 News Team recently caught a glimpse of what appears to be an unannounced Halo 5 game along with an icon for Project Gotham Racing during a recent demonstration by Microsoft's Jonathon Cluts of hidden Kinect technology. During the demo, Cluts is showing how he can change walls in a futuristic house. He passes by icons and chooses Grandma's Room. Clearly on either side are icons for "Project Gotham Racing" and "Inside Halo 5". This all could have been a marketing scheme cooked up by Microsoft or maybe there actually is a Halo Kinect title in the works. …

Fans of Master Chief prepare to get your pants wet with sheer excitement. A remake of the game that put Halo on the path to taking over the world is officially being remade for the Xbox 360 and will be releasing on November 15, 2011 which happens to be exactly ten years since the release of the original. Saber Interactive who is responsible for Time Shift, is taking over the reigns of the remake. Halo CE will be getting a full visual overhaul supporting 1080p and 3D televisions as well as new art assets will be added. Microsoft announced a live action television series based on their flagship series, Halo with Steven Spielberg at the helm.Steven Spielberg took the big screen to announce his joy in working with this original Xbox television series project based on the ever so popular sci fi series, Halo. Halo: Reach's new map pack will be delivered to you sometime this March for 800 Microsoft points. The "Defiant Map Pack" will feature 3 new maps and an added 150 gamerscore points. Condemned can hold 6-12 players and is in a space station above Reach. Unearthed is firefight map on a mine and refinery on Reach. The much anticipated release date for Halo: Reach has been announced as September 14th (9/15 in Japan). The pre-order, Limited Edition, and Legendary Edition bonuses have also been announced. Check after the break for screens of the new skins. The developer of fan favorite Rock Band has found a new home. Viacom sold Harmonix to Harmonix-SBE Holdings LLC on Thursday, December 23. What does this mean for gamers who own Harmonix's Rock Band and Dance Central? Absolutely nothing at the moment. "We’re excited to be returning to our roots as an independent and privately owned studio. Valve might be rethinking their touring strategies after a photo appeared online perhaps confirming Left 4 Dead 3. During a recent tour of the Valve Bellevue offices, a Dota 2 player spied and took a photo of an internal changelog that was left open for all to see. The message in the changelog states, "Restored L4D3's devtest unit. Ran locally 6 times without an assert...". Also caught in the photograph is the Source 2 engine which Half Life 3 is rumored to be using. Valve has yet to comment on the leaked photo and whether L4D3 is officially in development. Sony and HBO are announcing a partnership to put HBO TV Shows on the PSN Video Store. This will join the Starz and Showtime programming that is already on the store currently. As you may know, HBO has their own download service and to curb any issues the PSN store may cause to that business model, shows will only become available when the DVDs are released. DVD releases are typically a year after the original airing of the shows. Shows will run about $2.99 per episode and will kick off with HBO staples like Curb Your Enthusiasm, True Blood, and Entourage.
