Just like every other game before it, Mass Effect 3 is getting pre-order content, but of course it all depends on who you pre-order with and if you pre-order it at all. Gamers who pre-order from GameStop will get N7 Warfare Gear along with the N7 Valkyrie assualt rifle. Origin pre-orders will be receiving the AT12 Raider shotgun and the M55 Argus assault rifle. This is where the pre-orders get confusing. Anybody who pre-orders at any retailer will be receiving the M55 Argus assualt rifle. So technically Origin users are only getting one pre-order item and GameStop pre-orders are getting another. All of the Mass Effect 3 pre-order goodies will be available the day tha…

  2. Somewhere if you listen closely you can hear the faint cries coming from fans of the uber popular cult series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, because the online developer that was responsible for at one time working on both of their MMO's has closed it doors before the new year began. Multiverse who first gained recognition by allowing developers to create MMO's cheaply through use of their Multiverse Platform announced through a message on their website before 2011 ended that they had to close their doors due to lack of funds. Good news for at least Firefly fans, DarkCryo Entertainment is working on Firefly Universe Online. However for my fellow Buffy fans, we wil…

While Sony says, "We do not comment on rumors or speculation about our products" when questioned about whether or not God of War IV was on the horizon, a composer who is working on the music for the game has ousted the project without Sony knowing. The award winning Timothy Williams has confirmed to Joystiq that he is indeed helping out with composing the music for God of War IV and that the game is now on his resume as "upcoming". Williams has composed music for several Hollywood hits including Watchmen, 300, and Halloween. He also composed music for video games such as Army of Two: 40th Day, Transformers, and Rise of the Arognauts. via Joystiq and Timothy William's R…

  4. The Last Guardian, a game in the works by Team Ico, was recently pulled from GameStop's pre-order listings, which prompted the following automated message to be sent to all gamers who pre-ordered their copy of the game: "Hello, this is GameStop calling with important news regarding your reservation. We've been notified by the vendor that The Last Guardian has been canceled. To reserve a different title or have your reservation money refunded, please go to your local store. "To repeat, we've been notified that the vendor has canceled production of the game The Last Guardian. If you have any questions please call your local store. Thank you. Goodbye." President Obama was spotted at a Best Buy purchasing Just Dance 3 for the Wii for his daughters and according to the President, he sucks at dance games. "The girls beat me everytime at these various dance games. You guys will never get a picture of me doing it." Photo or no photo, unfortunately Mr. President you were caught on camera buying Just Dance 3 for the Wii over Dance Central 2. 7. The first set of DLC has been announced for Modern Warfare 3. Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling made the announcement on Call of Duty's Elite service premium side meaning that unless you paid up for Elite, you can't see the video. Elite subscribers on Xbox Live will be able to get their hands on the DLC January 24th. No date was given for Playstation 3 or PC users. Bowling stated rather vaguely that the content will contain things that players have never seen before and that all three developers Infinity Ward, Raven Software, and Sledgehammer have worked on the unnamed DLC. via Call of Duty Elite and Joystiq Click here to view the article

  9. If you've been waiting all these years to sell that box of wires named "GameCube," you've waited a bit too long. As of April 2nd, GameStop will not accept trade-ins for the system, its games, or any of its affiliated accessories. This news holds some nostalgic value for me, as the GameCube was the first console I ever owned, and Super Smash Brothers: Melee was the first game I bought for it. Still, I don't really miss the system. At the moment, GameStop is still selling used consoles, games, and accessories, so if you're into collector's items, you're free to help yourself to the gamut of stuff your local GameStop store is bound to have in stock. via Game Informer Click h…

  11. EA's online download system Origin has been accused of placing a form of tracking software onto your computer to get your personal information, but EA has always denied the claims that gamers had made. After a post in the forum Day One Patch and the responses that follow, is there finally proof that Origin is reading information off of your gaming machine? User forsayken claims that when he booted up Origin to play Battlefield 3, he took notice that Dead Space 2 appeared, however he claims that he downloaded Dead Space 2 four months ago off of Steam. Turns out from the responses, others have taken notice to the same thing happening to them with other Steam purchased gam…

Fans of the Mass Effect series will be happy to know that they surpassed the number of pre orders for Mass Effect 2 with Bioware's upcoming entry into the series, Mass Effect 3. EA product manager Will Graham said that the pre orders for Mass Effect 3 have "broken the targets set" and are " well ahead of where we were at the same point with Mass Effect 2". EA has been heavily advertising to get the Mass Effect brand out there for Mass Effect 3's release on March 6th. Besides commercials, collectable items, and trailers, EA has also launched copies of Mass Effect 3 with GPS devices attached into space so that gamers can track the copies and hunt them down when they land. …

Bioware's Michael Gamble announced that the Mass Effect 3 downloadable content "From Ashes" will be available as a separate download for gamers who choose not plunk down the change for the Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition. The extra DLC that was leaked prematurely onto the Xbox Live Marketplace yesterday includes a Prothean squad member, side story, and new outfits for your squad, and a new weapon. It will cost non-CE buyers an extra $10.00 or 800 MS points. 17. Do you feel like rewinding a few years or so ago? Bethesda has announced that they are releasing a double pack of games that include Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The pack will release on April 3rd and will cost you $29.99 for the Xbox 360 versions and $19.99 for the PC. If you are planning on purchasing the pack ignore the front of the package that says, "2006 and 2008 Game of the Year Award winners", because it does not contain the Game of the Year editions of both games that contain all of the DLC. You still have to fork out the coin for that. via G4TV Click here to view the article

LA Noire also scored a nomination in the Debut category. Other titles receiving their share of nominations include Modern Warfare 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, FIFA 12, Portal 2, and Assassin'c Creed' Revelations.
