Everything Is Rigged: The Biggest Price-Fixing Scandal Ever

So what's the answer?  Where there is money there will always be shadyness.  I don't want a global economic collapse but we definitely need to nail some heads to the wall.  That dismissal arguement (and the fact it was accepted) was crazy.

When we keep bailing them out of every mess and there are no repurcussions to anything they do, no wonder they keep going further and further. Until some of the big banks fail from some of these stupid practices nothing will happen. Stuff like this should end badly instead it ends in a bailout.

Money is power and that's something that can't be fixed. It's a necessity. Even if we went to a full barter system, there'd always be someone with more.

Even if we made it so politicians couldn't run for office if they had stake in financial institutions, energy institutions, etc . . . someone would find a way to manipulate the system. Then others would find out about it, and they, too, would want in on that power.

We could even install harsh punishments if a politician was ever caught trying to manipulate the system. They'd still do it, though. If harsh punishments were any good at prevention, our jails wouldn't be full of drug violators.

Every big empire falls. I think it's meant to be that way for a reason.
