March 27, 201313 yr comment_73374 Phantom Pain was revealed today at GDC. One word - HOLYFUCKINGSHITBALLSGUIZ! I'll be updating this thread as soon as the videos are released. The reveal happened at a live event, and so far no videos have been put up yet. Kojima's new Fox engine is amazing as well. I hope to also post videos of that in action. It's very impressive. Also, I believe "Ishmael" is voiced by Keifer Sutherland. Not sure on that yet, though. Stay Tuned ***Update*** Higher def version here Report
March 27, 201313 yr comment_73377 Holy shit indeed, are any of those graphics in-game? The trailer itself is goosebumps worthy with that song, I'm certainly excited. Does this mean that there are two new Metal Gear Solid games being made, then? V: The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes? Fantastic. I hope they cover the story of the original two Metal Gear games in a new game someday since I haven't had a chance to play them yet. It's what all of the story of Big Boss is leading to, why not bridge the two timelines (Naked Snake and Solid Snake) with a modern game beyond the NES era? EDIT: I looked it up and apparently The Phantom Pain is the first part of the game, with Ground Zeroes coming later. I wonder what the actual subtitle will be. Either way, THIS is the kind of game to get a PS4 for, if enough badassery gets made. Though of course I'd prefer it to come to PC, but MGS never really has. Oh shit, and a quick Google again surprises me. http://tech2.in.com/news/gaming/job-listing-confirms-pc-port-for-metal-gear-solid-ground-zeroes/764632 Hell. Yes. Report
March 27, 201313 yr Author comment_73379 Kojima said that all we saw during the demo was done from inside of the game. I honestly hope Kojima licenses his new Fox engine to other developers. It's really nice. @Kev Your link is 404. Report
March 27, 201313 yr comment_73380 The link just went to a page stating that PC porting job listings were found for the new MGS game. So that's exciting. And yeah, if that's the real engine, it seems amazing. Although, to be fair, most of what we saw was up close and personal. You don't get that much of an idea of how it will handle wide views with a lot of detail in the distance. EDIT: Fixed. I had just added a "." to the end of the link by accident. Report
March 27, 201313 yr comment_73389 The stuff they showed off was all running on PC, so I really do hope they release a PC version(rising never did, though I know that was a different situation). Otherwise it's just listed as 360/PS3, which i'm curious to see how it runs on those. Report
March 27, 201313 yr Author comment_73390 It wouldn't be difficult now that the next gen Playstation uses a PC architecture. Report
March 27, 201313 yr comment_73391 I'm sure there will be next gen versions, i'm just curious to see the different in quality between the next gen and last gen versions. Report
