Seems to me that this cardboard promo for Walking Dead, would have taken a few days to produce and ship out to the various retailers.

Why then, would voting remain open just moments from the awards show going live? Is it treated like promo gear for championship sporting events? Make two versions of the hats and t-shirts for both teams in the final. Imagine a clear winner being chosen and you make all the promos to rush out to retailers, and a sudden surge by the #2 in voting pushes past the clear winner?
