Wear Yellow Tomorrow!

Featured Replies

September was childhood cancer awareness month, but Granite's school is showing support tomorrow by having all of the kids and staff wear yellow shirts. This is especially important because yesterday we found out that a family that goes to the same church where Granite has Sunday School....their little 2 year old boy was diagnosed with Leukemia after they took him to the emergency room for what they though were belly issues. The boy was immediately flown to the Hershey Medical Center which in this area is the best place to receive care. So far he has had five blood transfusions, 1 platelet transfusion, and will be receiving a pic line in his spine for chemo and also a spinal tap and biopsies taken of this spine for bone marrow. This has all been done since Saturday.

So wear some form of yellow tomorrow to show your support for childhood cancer awareness and also for this little guy.

Kids should never have to deal with these forms of sickness. I hope the little guy pulls through

Well the good news from lastnight is that they found out that the type of Leukemia he has is common and easy to cure. I am getting together a care package for him this weekend with toys and coloring books....things to brighten his up his day. I wish it was under better circumstances, but I just felt that I had to do something for him. No kid should have to go through cancer period.

Thanks to all those that wear yellow today!
