I'm still baffled that this will be in 3D.

Moving to be the new standard. Few extra bucks at the theaters. Long as its subtle I don't care. As in, when I watch it in 2D I don't think "well, that was there just for 3d gimmicks"

Absolutely love the art deco style of the 20's and 30's.

I don't recall much of the main plot of the book, but I remember it being pretty good.

"They were careless people, Tom and Daisy – they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made..."

This looks like it could be a good movie if done right. And usually with DiCaprio around things are done quite well.

I was disturbed by the trailer music (the first half at least), with autotune and all, but it's just the trailer. Hopefully the movie won't have a weird overly modern sounding retro thing going on in the soundtrack, more just a stylized retro. If I hear dubstep/classical I'll shank a bish.
