August 5, 201115 yr comment_41921 That is pretty cool, but I'm wondering how that would translate into actual performance in games if it's used. Seems like you'd need a pretty powerful system to handle models that detailed. Report
August 5, 201115 yr comment_41931 I believe that's the point. A vast majority of the graphics processing is the processing of those polygons. They are claiming they've found a method around that bottleneck. I'd love to see the information on how they managed this. If it's truly coming out then I cannot wait. This would be a game changer. Not only would it make gaming so much better you could almost render animated movies in real time with it. Report
August 5, 201115 yr Author comment_41932 It's change more than just gaming. Imagine the CGI sequences in movies, too. They already employ super computers to help render the really nicely made ones. Report
August 11, 201115 yr Author comment_42263 Apparently, some major people in the gaming world, including Notch from Minecraft, made it known that they thought all this was a hoax. Here's an interview talking about ithttp://pc.gamespy.com/articles/118/1187338p1.htmlHere's a new video by Euclideon Report
August 12, 201115 yr comment_42414 Of course any step this drastic will be called a hoax at first. Merely because the graphical leap is nearly unbelievable. I tend to believe they have managed it somehow, but I would like to hear the technical side of it. Report
December 3, 201114 yr comment_49260 Holy shit, this is sounding more and more legitimate. We may be but a few years from graphical perfection. Would free up so much more time to making games just better.http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2011/11/22/exploring-unlimited-detail.aspx Report
December 3, 201114 yr comment_49266 I hope It's real. I can only imagine what a studio like rockstar or dice could do with somethin like that. Especially paired with rockstars euphoria physics engine and the facial animations from LA Noire. Gets me giddy. Report
