April 29, 201115 yr Author comment_36002 damn. nobody wants to comment on the meteor thing? it's not a hack job. it's the best representation of what scientists say has and will again happen to earth when, not if a meteor like that hits us. frankly, the way they described it, i kind of wondered how many civilizations have been here on earth.crap. i can't find it except in japanese. April 29, 201115 yr comment_36009 It's a great video, it just doesn't really resonate with me. I've never been big into the Doomsday theories. When that day does come its out of our hands anyways, so I don't dwell on it too much. Report
April 29, 201115 yr comment_36041 According to the Science Channel, (one of?) the first "big one(s)" was actually an incredibly auspicious event, believe it or not. It fragmented parts of the planet and launched them into space, where they eventually formed the Moon. Eventually the Earth cooled etc. etc. and by the time there was water, the Moon was there to create tides, which allowed for evolution to take place. If you look at all of the factors, the existence of life on Earth is essentially an astronomical jackpot.
