Here’s something you can’t do with your Kindle; Snoop Dogg is set to put out a book of songs that is all set to recycle after you’re done reading it. Since it’s Snoop Dogg, I’ll give you one guess on the suggested recycling method of “Rolling Words”, a songbook that is set to be released as a promotion for Snoop’s line of rolling papers, “Kingsize Slim”. That’s right, after you’re done reading along to Snoop’s beautiful words, you can use the pages to roll up your favorite wacky tobacky: http://thenextweb.co...-songbook-video

  2. When U.S. authorities shuttered sports-wagering site Bodog.com last week, it raised eyebrows across the net because the domain name was registered with a Canadian company, ostensibly putting it beyond the reach of the U.S. government. Working around that, the feds went directly to VeriSign, a U.S.-based internet backbone company that has the contract to manage the coveted .com and other “generic” top-level domains. EasyDNS, an internet infrastructure company, protested that the “ramifications of this are no less than chilling and every single organization branded or operating under .com, .net, .org, .biz etc. needs to ask themselves about their vulnerability to the whims …

  5. New York State Police officials today announced the arrest of Genghis Khan on gun and drug charges. Khan, a 22-year-old Brooklyn resident, was collared yesterday afternoon after troopers stopped a 2001 Chevy for traffic offenses as it traveled on Interstate 87 in Clarkstown in Rockland County. A search of the vehicle, which smelled of pot, turned up cocaine, marijuana, and a Ruger .357 revolver. Wow.... so many people with "famous" names, and they usually get arrested. Source

If the full moon looked a bit bigger and brighter on Saturday's night sky, you're not seeing things. It's just the "Supermoon" - the biggest moon of 2012. Also a meteor shower from Hally's Comet that's peeking as well, which added to the sky show. The moon was about 221,802 miles from Earth about 12.2 percent closer to our planet than when the moon is at apogee, it's farthest point.

"As the search for cheap, safe and non-carbon emitting sources of energy continues, a band of scientists say the answer may be nuclear reactors fueled by thorium. Others caution that thorium reactors pose waste and proliferation risks. Ira Flatow and guests discuss the pros and cons of thorium reactors." NPR Is Thorium A Magic Bullet For Our Energy Problems?

  9. In the city of Detroit, doing the right thing might not always be the best idea — especially if you want to keep your job: just ask a former groundskeeper for the Wayne County Department of Public Services. John Chevilott was only two years of shy of retirement when he lost the government position he held for 23 years earlier this month. After he spotted a loaded handgun while mowing the lawn of a neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan, Chevilott carefully picked up the firearm and put it aside to hand over to law enforcement. When he visited a local police station that afternoon, he was applauded for his action. “They said I did the right thing getting it off the street,” Mr.…

  10. You've likely heard of "One Million Moms" a conservative mother group who blah blah blah are brainwashed and stupid, anyhow. They're newest rage is a superhero being gay. Article Here I found it amusing the pic included shows them about to kissy kiss, which is fine. I'm surprised they're not also offended their a couple of two different races.

  12. I highly doubt you'll see this story on your local news, and probably not even on cable news. These are the sort of acts advocates have to do, just to try and get the president or anyone in office, to talk about hemp. If anyone tries to start a dialog about it, it gets pushed aside. There is no drug value in hemp. It can contain trace amounts of THC, but you'd need a whole field of it to catch a buzz, and no one is going to smoke that much. There is far too many great things you can do with hemp, and absolutely ZERO reasons why it needs to be illegal. http://www.newser.com/story/147875/cops-collar-hemp-grower-caged-outside-white-house.html

  13. There have been questions about what documents the CIA chooses to declassify, and so Kel McClanahan of National Security Counselors filed a Freedom of Information Act request to find out what procedures the CIA must follow in response to requests to declassify information. McClanahan appeared to know exactly what he was looking for, but... was told that the CIA simply could not find any such documents. Read on http://www.techdirt....documents.shtml

  14. Oh Kentucky. You've given us some sweet bourbon, horse racing, and even unleashed Col. Sanders into the world. You're also responsible now for this..... Ladies and gentlemen. Behold the "truckcar". Some redneck genius decided it would be awesome to slap the cab and front part of the hood of a 1962 International truck onto a mid 90's Pontiac Grand Am. The results, obviously, are horrendous. Granted, it MAY look better if it was "finished" and painted but I would stil never be caught dead driving this piece of crap. You can hit up Jalopnik for some more great photos, check out the Craigslist post, or just read the following description of this monstrosity. "for sa…

  19. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Ben The story of Ben is a classic creepypasta, begun in a dark corner of the internet and propagated widely due to its sheer sinister appeal. The story involves a second-hand copy of Majora's Mask, its origin unknown. This particular cartridge had a save file named simply "BEN." The unfortunate player who spread the original story erased the file and started his own, but something was off. The NPCs in Clock Town still referred to him as BEN; music played backward; Link would spontaneously erupt in flames; and he was hounded by a strange statue—the same one that appears when you play the incredibly creepy "Elegy of Emptiness" on your oc…

  23. So I was tabbing through the news articles on yahoo's front page because, well ill be honest, I like to find the ones with pictures and see cool stuff or occasionally come across something that is just bizarre or different. anyway, i clicked on one about 11 ridiculous petitions that people have started, now there is one to build the death star for real a long with a handful of others that made me chuckle. But holy crap there is an actual petition to get a statue of Master Chief made and placed on the White House lawn. It has less than 2 weeks to go, and needs way to man signatures for it to pass but damn. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/build-statue-master-chie…
