In a rather ballsy and "superior" word filled message, EA CEO John Riccitiello told investors that Battlefield 3 will dominate Call of Duty when the game releases later this year. "We know we have a big competitor but head-to-head with Call of Duty in Q3, we have the superior game engine, a superior development studio, and a flat out superior game. Our goal is to significantly gain share in the huge FPS category and to put the other team on defense" - John Riccitiello, EA CEO via Eurogamer

Can you imagine fighting locusts with COG members in Gears of War alongside Halo's most recognizable character, Master Chief? It almost happened. Cliff Blezinski spoke to Complex about what could been. "I actually approached Microsoft on getting Master Chief into the game, but those guys are kind of squeamish. One of Halo’s successes is that it’s a soft M [rating]. Gears pushes it further. I’m creatively comfortable with that, though it can limit what you do. If you had to break it down, I'd

Do you like to play open ended sandbox-styled games like [insert any open-ended game here]?    According to DICE's Patrick Bach who is serving as the Executive Producer to Battlefield 3, you are in the minority because sandbox games just plain suck. "In some cases they aren’t, but in most cases sandbox games are hardcore, boring, hard to get into and they are not very popular." You hear that kiddos?  If you play GTA, Saint's Row, Red Dead Remption, or even Battlefield 2: Bad Company that DICE wo

In a statement made late last week, Chief Executive of Nintendo Satoru Iwata explained one of the regrets that Nintendo is coming forth about with the once considered landmark console, the Nintendo Wii. "I now regret that we didn't tie up with someone outside the company to market the Wii. If we had done that, the fate of the Wii might have been different. Now I am aware that we should not rely too much on ourselves. You will see what I mean by this when we market the 3DS and the Wii in the fut

In a recent expletive filled interview with Game Informer, rapper turned actor Ice-T talks about his video game habits and why your kill/death ratio isn't going to get you any action. "...I have a clan on Call of Duty, and when you start telling me your kill/death ratio – I don’t give a f---. You really going to pick up a b---- by telling her your kill/death ratio? That doesn’t really matter. " Thank you Captain Obvious. via Game Informer

In Nintendo's world there are two different types of indie developers. The "Garage" developer who has an idea, but little to no experience that apparently according to this little quote are only envisioning themselves of a developer and are not passionate about their "craft" and then there is the full on "Indie" developer who has a lot of experience and worked with bigger developers and publishers and that is who Nintendo wants to work with.  No surprise there Fils-Aime. If you answered no, then get ready to do a while lot of crying, kicking, screaming, and name calling. According to Game Informer, a Microsoft rep has confirmed that gamers will have to pay again for the classic arcade games that they might have already in the game library, because the Game Room classic's are different from the "revamped" versions of the classic titles on the XBLA so they will not transer over. How much will this cost you again to purchase? The games will range in price from 2

When Aksys Games released a limited edition of Arc System's BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, I applauded.  Offering a CD soundtrack and a DVD strategy guide (or Blu-Ray if you bought the PS3 version) at the same price as the regular edition, this was a trend that needed to catch on.  Surely other games would follow suit? Leave it to Aksys Games to completely ruin the very concept they created.  Record of Agarest War will be released on a DVD for the XBox 360, and the "Really Naughty" Limited Edition

Starting June 17th the kiosk based movie rental provider, Redbox, will finally move in to the games market at all it's locations.  With over 21,000+ locations nationwide, the $2 per day rental fee seems like a pretty decent price point.  Selections will include select games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Wii.  The service has been tested in over 5,000 locations and must have done fairly well, with the full launch coming soon. Was the upcoming release date of Rockstar North’s Grand Theft Auto V inadvertently given away by online retailer Walmart.com?
