Warner Bros. has previously announced that narrative driven DLC was to be expected sometime in 2014 for Batman Arkham: Origins, but they did not give an exact time frame for when gamers could expect it.

There is also the chance that the announcement could be a next-gen Batman Arkham game considering that owners of the next-gen consoles with the exception of the Wii U, do not have a Batman: Arkham game to play.

What do you think? Game or DLC?

via Batman Arkham Facebook

Keyboards:

A mechanical keyboard is always a nice addition for the PC gamer. One of the higher rated ones is the Razer Black Widow Ultimate: Amazon $112

Here is another option: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/ . They sell a full arrangement of mechanical keyboard that are customizable. Plus they have detailed information on the different switches. No macro support, but they are all around great keyboards.

Mice:

I have to recommend the R.A.T. 7 (wired): Amazon $98 or the R.A.T. 9 (wireless): Amazon $134 . They have been around for a while and look like a transformer, but with all the options you can fit the mouse to almost any hand. Very comfortable once you find the right arrangement for your hand. Plus they have fully programmable buttons, dpi adjustment, and different modes all at your finger tips.

Monitors:

I have been wishing for either one of these fine monitors:

BenQ XL2420TE: Amazon $280

ASUS VG248QE: Amazon $267

Both are 24 inch monitors supporting 1080P and up to 144hz refresh rate. It seems that which is left up to preference. The BenQ has been noted to have less flickering at different brightness levels, but the ASUS will be the first monitor to be compatible with NVIDIA G-sync when it releases.

Graphics Cards:

Under $300

Radeon R9 270x: Amazon $218-$250

or

Nvidia 760: Amazon $240-$300

I would recommend the Nvidia card, but the Radeon performs close to the same and can be found for a bit cheaper.

Above $400

Radeon R9: Newegg $550

or

Nvidia 780: Newegg $500

The Radeon card performs about 10% faster than the the Nvidia card, but currently the Nvidia 780 can be had for $50 cheaper and includes Batman Arkham Origins, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag when purchased during the holidays.

Headset:

Personally, I can only recommend one.

Sennheiser PC360: Amazon $167

They will work with the PC, and also a PS4 if you have an adapter to hook into the controller ( fairly cheap ) . Not sure about the Xbox One. The sound quality is excellent, and it has a well built mic for chat. Plus they are incredibly comfortable for long play sessions.

Hard Drives:

Samsung 840 EVO SSD 120GB to 1TB: Amazon $100 to $525

Samsung 840 Pro SSD 128GB to 512GB: Amazon $125 to $420

An SSD is almost a must have for any serious gamer these days. The problem has been price per gigabyte, but those prices have come back to something more reasonable. If all you care about is speed and performance, or you're just looking for a new boot drive without the extra space I would recommend the 840 Pro series. They are pricier, but one of the fastest SSDs on the market. Keep in mind, the 128GB model is slightly slower than the larger models.

If you are looking for an SSD to increase your speeds and also need the extra space then I recommend the 840 EVO series. They aren't as fast as many SSDs out there, but they are still considerably faster than a standard Hard Drive and sport a lot better price/per gigabyte. As suggested with the Pro series, you should think about grabbing at least the 250GB model. Either way though, the EVO is a great addition to any PC for a reasonable price.

The casting call project which is code-named "Institute" does not officially mention the name Fallout 4 in anyway, however one glance at these documents make it pretty obvious what they are referring to.

Among things discussed in these leaked documents includes the Fallout staple quote; "War. War never changes", references Boston as where the game will take place, and also mentions other Fallout locations such as the Commonwealth which was formerly known as Massachusetts.

The casting call also lists that they are looking for a radio dj named Travis Miles, an engineer names Sturges, and also voice actors for the main playable character who can be either male or female.

According to Kotaku which is where these leaked casting call documents were first seen, they have confirmed the documents to be real.

Bethesda has remained quiet on the topic of Fallout 4 after a website was launched supposedly for Fallout 4, but turned out to be a hoax and Bethesda quickly shut it down. Interestingly enough though, Bethesda did file for a Fallout 4 trademark back in November in Europe, however remains mum about whether or not the game is in development.

via Kotaku (click link to view documents)

Fable Anniversary will be available on the Xbox 360 for $39.99 beginning on February 4th, 2014 in North America, February 6th, 2014 in Asia, and February 7th, 2014 in Europe.

Lionhead has also announced that there will be limited edition "first copies" of Fable Anniversary available that will include a code for launch day weapons and outfits. The limited edition copies will also include a 10th Anniversary Lion's Head Avatar Helmet.

Many questions have been asked regarding the release of Fable Anniversary and if it will ever be released on the Xbox One. According to Lionhead, Fable Anniversary will not be receiving an Xbox One release and they do not have any plans to release it on the console in the future.

Reliving 2004's original Fable, players take on the role of a young hero whose entire family was killed on his sister's birthday. The hero later meets up Jack of Blades , a legendary hero who is the head of arena battles.

Fable was an overall successful game and has won over 50 awards and became Xbox's fastest selling game during that time by selling 375,000 copies during the first week of sales in North America and 600,000 during it's first month in North America. By 2006, Fable had sold more 2 million units.

via Lionhead Blog

Both spy agencies for the US and UK reportedly "have built mass-collection capabilities against the Xbox Live console network". To date, there are over 48 million Xbox Live users.

Both agencies have also used World of Warcraft and Second Life by creating characters as a means to gain information from users' buddy lists, monitor interactions, and recruit potential informants. There are over 36 million registered Second Life players and according to a report in July, World of Warcraft is down to 7.7 million active players.

In the 2008 NSA document, "Exploiting Terrorist Use of Games & Virtual Environments", the NSA and GCHQ speak about how they believe online gaming and online chats present opportunities for terrorists to discuss future attacks and also their plans further describing the online gaming community as a "target-rich communications network".

The report also claims that terrorist group Al-Qaeda and other possible terrorists associate themselves with XBL, Second Life, and World of Warcraft.

"Al-Qaida terrorist target selectors and … have been found associated with Xbox Live, Second Life, World of Warcraft, and other GVEs [games and virtual environments]. Other targets include Chinese hackers, an Iranian nuclear scientist, Hizballah, and Hamas members."

Perhaps most interestingly mentioned by The Guardian is how the GCHQ requested the NSA to begin using World of Warcraft in a "deliberate effort to extract metadata" and link "accounts, characters and guilds" to Islamic extremism and arms dealing efforts." It was later claimed that within World of Warcraft active subscribers they found "telecom engineers, embassy drivers, scientists, the military and other intelligence agencies". Soon after the infiltration of World of Warcraft, Xbox Live followed.

The FBI, CIA, and Defense Humint Service were also mentioned in the report as using Second Life to gain intelligence.

Blizzard Entertainment; the developer behind World of Warcraft is speaking out about the report and claim that they did not know about the spying. "We are unaware of any surveillance taking place. If it was, it would have been done without our knowledge or permission."

Both Microsoft and the founder of Second Life Philip Rosedale declined to comment. The NSA has also declined to comment on the report and GCHQ has not confirmed or denied the report, but did say "in accordance with a strict legal and policy framework which ensures that its activities are authorised, necessary and proportionate, and there is rigorous oversight, including from the secretary of state, the interception and intelligence services commissioners and the Intelligence and Security Committee".

via The Guardian

DICE's studio manager Karl Magnus Troedsson released a statement telling Xbox One users that they are committed to fixing the ongoing problems.

"At DICE, we are committed to you, the fans, and view the game as a live service. I am extremely proud of the people at DICE and everyone across EA that contributed to the development of Battlefield 4. However, I am less proud to see that the game has experienced some turbulence during the launch period. While some platforms have had only minor problems, others have had more than their fair share of issues.

Resolving the launch issues is our #1 priority. In fact, we are so serious that we have the entire team working to stabilize the game and we will not move on to other projects until we are sure that Battlefield 4 meets – and exceeds – your expectations. It is the right thing to do."

Troedsson did not mention when the patch will be released, however did state DICE is holding a double XP week for Battlefield 4 users beginning on November 28th and lasting until December 5th. On December 5th, Battlefield 4 users who log in to the game will be receive the M1911 pistol scope which was previously only for DICE developers. The scope features a 3x zoom.

The Xbox One version is not the only version to be experiencing multiple problems. DICE released a patch for the PS4 earlier today that fixes crashing, bugs, and corrupted single player save files.
The patch fixes regular crashing issues and also crashing issues associated with changing weapons and maps and crashes occurring from resuming the single player campaign.

Other fixes included in the patch are the reduction of the probability that you will get a corrupt save file in single player, a bug has been fixed that caused a connection error when accessing Playstation Plus, and improved performance when a player shoots at destroying Levolution objects.

DICE is also in the final testing phase of a patch for the Xbox 360 which will be released soon and also a new update is in the works for the PC version of Battlefield 4.

No word on when a patch will be released for the Xbox One version of Battlefield 4 where many users are complaining on the Battlefield 4 Battlelog forum of crashing during multiplayer games that kicks you back to the Xbox One dashboard frequently, joining multiplayer game connectivity issues, and reported lag.
While EA and Tiger Woods have severed their relationship, EA still retains the rights to the PGA tour series, they just cannot use Tiger Woods name, in game character, and put him on the cover. EA does plan on using PGA Tour in the name on future titles including the announcement of a next gen PGA Tour game that will be on the PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.

According to market tracking company NPD Group, the Tiger Woods series has sold close to $771 million dollars since it's start. Tiger Woods agent Mark Steinberg said that it is hard to find a game series like the PGA Tour series outside of John Madden.

"We had an incredible run. Outside of [John] Madden, you would be hard pressed to find a sports figure that meant as much to a video game company as Tiger meant to EA. But times are changing and EA had to re-evaluate the partnership and frankly so did we."

According to ESPN, Steinberg also claimed that he was in negotiations with another company regarding Tiger Woods "video game rights".

via ESPN and Gamespot

"We respect GTAV quite a bit. It’s an incredible game. But this decision doesn’t have anything to do with any other game. The Watch Dogs team started work a few years ago with the vision to build the first truly next-gen new IP, which is a huge undertaking.

We won’t compromise on the quality and the experience of Watch Dogs, even if it means our initial timeline proved too ambitious. Ubisoft’s long-term goal is to be the best developer of next-gen games, and this starts with Watch Dogs. That’s always been the goal, and it remains the goal to this day."

Steinman further reiterated that the game has been in development for "nearly half of a decade" and that all they want to do is deliver a "exceptional" game.

"Watch Dogs already has an incredible depth and scope. We won’t compromise on the quality and the experience of Watch Dogs, even if it means our initial timeline proved too ambitious. We want to be the winner on next-gen, which means we need to make bold decisions and create games that will deliver unrivaled innovations. This is why the team is taking extra time to realize their ambitions for the game.”

“We know it feels like a last-minute decision, but we promise it was not a decision made lightly… We tested the game until the very last minute in order to make the most informed decision. This is why the team is taking extra time to realize their ambitions for the game.”

“The focus here is on delivering the best possible game and being a leader on the next-gen, rather than releasing the game prematurely. We know there will be some great games at launch (including Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag!), and in the window between launch and release. The team has been working really hard to deliver a really ambitious game within the original timeframe. We tested the game until the very last minute in order to make the most informed decision. It’s now clear that we need to allow for this extra time to fully realize our ambition, polish the game and really do it justice. We have high expectations for the next gen, and we want to deliver a game a truly exceptional and memorable game.”

“The game has actually been in development now for nearly half a decade. The whole team is doing an amazing job, and remains committed to the project. Their intention is still to deliver a truly exceptional and memorable game. The game has incredible depth and scope, and we think players will appreciate that even more thanks to the additional time we’re taking to fully realize our ambition and polish the game.”

Watch Dogs which was originally suppose to be release on November 19th was pushed back to Spring 2014 with no definitive date given.

via Ubi Blog
